Arkansas Lady Hawks Mission Statement

At Arkansas Lady Hawks,

Our mission is to develop young athletes, not to profit from them. Our program is entirely free because we are dedicated to nurturing future leaders, role models, and instilling a robust work ethic in every child we touch.

We believe in the holistic development of our players. Success in basketball is only one part of our goal; we aim to prepare our athletes for life beyond the court. If our players aren't successful after basketball, we consider it a failure in our mentorship and coaching.

Our philosophy emphasizes teaching resilience and overcoming adversity. We focus on intensive development during the summer, ensuring that your child demonstrates noticeable improvement throughout the school year. We prioritize meaningful progress over extensive travel, ensuring your child maximizes their potential in their high school program.

We refuse to waste your time and money. If we haven’t done our job in developing your child to perform at their best in front of college coaches, then we haven’t fulfilled our mission. At Arkansas Lady Hawks, we are committed to developing young athletes into not just better players, but better individuals. Join us, and experience a program dedicated to true growth and success.

Meet The Coach

John Thrower

For the past twenty years, I have dedicated myself to coaching and developing young athletes, transforming kids with minimal experience into scholarship recipients.

My basketball journey began in 2000 when I played for the ARMY team for two years, followed by 23 years of active duty service. After my playing days, I became a coach for the Arkansas Hawks men's team, where I honed my high-level training skills.

I have had the privilege of working with top-tier programs such as John Lucas Enterprises, Gannon Baker Basketball, and serving as an assistant trainer at the USA Basketball youth programs in Colorado.

Throughout my career, I have trained a diverse group of talented athletes at high-level camps, including notable names like Jessica Jackson, Aja Wilson, Asia Durr, Tyler Collins, Brandi Beasley, Lauren Cox, Crystal Dangerfield, Emily Lytle, and Arike Ogunbowale.

My passion for nurturing young talent has resulted in successfully guiding over 25 high school seniors to college scholarships. I am committed to continuing this journey, helping your child reach their full potential and achieve their basketball dreams.

Join us and watch your young athlete soar to new heights!
